AKC Bred With HEART
Blue Sky Labradors is proud to be part of the AKC Bred with HEART Program. This Program is meant to improve the health and well being of purebred dogs through breeders like us who have made a commitment to breeding better dogs through education and health testing.
HEART stands for Health, Education, Accountability, Responsibility and Tradition.
At Blue Sky Labradors we are truly committed to this very important AKC Program.
HEALTH :
WE certify that our breeding stock is health tested in accordance with the recommendations of our Labrador Retriever breed’s National Breed Club. Our dogs are screened through the OFA for hips, elbows eyes, and heart, and genetic testing is done with DDC Veterinary.
EDUCATION:
We promise that we will pursue AKC provided, or AKC approved, continuing breeder education so that we stay educated in the best breeding practices, including advances in canine health.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Blue Sky Labradors complies with the AKC Care and Conditions Policy, including inspections by the AKC, and we promise to share with AKC health testing and continuing education documentation.
RESPONSIBILITY:
We accept responsibility for the health and well being of the puppies that we produce and comply with all the laws regarding the ownership and maintenance of dogs.
TRADITION:
Upholding the AKC’s tradition pf breeding purebred dogs that are happy and healthy.

A favorite disability assistance breed in many countries, Labradors are frequently trained to aid the blind, those who have autism, to act as a therapy dog, or to perform screening and detection work for law enforcement and other official agencies. Additionally, they are prized as sporting, hunting, and family orientated dogs.
